Sam McCarlie

"I learned to fence with a Fife club in the late 1990s, and was with them until 2000, when I gave it up in favour of Scuba diving. I returned to fencing with the Orkney club in 2015, and became a coach in 2016. I coached Epee and Foil with them until 2019, when I returned to Central Scotland. I started working on my L3 Epee in late 2019, and will complete that when COVID permits. I am currently a member of WLFC, where I coach regularly, and at WFFC, where I sometimes help out with juniors or new members. I also continue to fence competitively as a veteran."

Stan Stoodley

Stan is the current president of Scottish fencing and has over 40 years' experience in the sport. He is a former Scottish Senior Foil Champion and Commonweath Games Team Member. Stan coaches on the Scottish Pathways Sqaud and completed his International FIE Coaching Diploma in Hungary. He is the lead wheelchair fencing coach at WLFC.
